Religion Matters Not, To a Demon
By Lana J. Brock
Many people attempt to define what a demon is. But all that really is available to us to extrapolate a vague description of one is mythology or Biblical references. The only other factor that contributes to the definition of a demon, in today's world, are the numerous television shows which display documentary style re-enactments of people affected by the presence of demonic energies. Movies and television provide a poor visualization and explanation of what demons are and how to really rid them from infesting humans and their residences; as producers tend to draw upon very old depictions of those entities and apply only a biased view of how to rid of them. This is truly a false representation of what they are and how they are to be dealt with.
Firstly, I do not believe a demon has any care of religion, your denomination, your belief in them or not. Really, I would rather like to include religion and myth only as references in an attempt to support what I believe; not as the only foundation of my beliefs. Quite simply, we must consider the natural state of everything in our universe in order to understand things basically and scientifically. But since I include the Bible as something I have Faith in, then I shall tread cautiously making certain to know where to draw the lines on what I think to be possible. My irretractable and undeniable faith is in the Bible. I also research other less known texts such as The Three Books of Enoch and more contemporary authored books for my reference guides. However, I always want to project a theory in a direction where I can see a little more light up ahead, where I could not see before. By conjecture, I can go anywhere. I can always say, "no this isn't the right direction," and turn around and start over. I stand fast on the Bible. However, I am a human being with thoughts and curiosities. I have questions I pose to God. I search the Bible, books, history and science. Still, sometimes all I can do is ask the questions and see where hypothesizing and theory will take me.
Secondly, demons do not appear to everyone. Nor do they practice corporeal form so as to prove their existence to the world. If I draw upon the Bible to its description of what they are, and then surmise further on what they became, then I can formulate theories and possibilities of what they could be, from the Biblical and mythological point of view. However, scientifically, I must concede that they are an unseen force; just because of the fact not many people witness them. So, could it be that a demon is not a religious being? My thoughts exactly! Just because the Bible and mythological stories, from many cultures of our world, happen to mention them in their content, does not mean that the nature of these beings cannot be described more naturally. God, HIMSELF, is described in a "religious" context for commanding that love be assigned to HIM above all others. God, being a CREATOR, is as a religious icon in our minds because we think as men. Mankind worships. Mankind seeks truth and follow the leaders and their gods. Mankind is a maker of religion. However, no matter how religious a context we find God, whether it be in the Bible or in our minds and hearts, HE is still a Force of Nature first. He was a natural pure and holy being infinitely before he was ever a religiously worshipped FORCE, after the creation of the universe and mankind. Likewise, any of HIS creation, angels, the heavens and the earth, and all of mankind have natural elements to help give definition; just not simply. Still, mankind would prefer to seek truth within the boundaries of only the Bible and mythological and historical stories in order to define God and not consider the FACTS behind HIM or his creation. There is more to HIM than has been written. God and the universe is all very much a thing of substance and conscience.
I believe most people are afraid to attempt to define God, Satan, angels or demons outside of the confines of the Bible because of the taboos which their denominational religions place upon them. Many individuals do not know how to formulate their own concepts of what life is to them. They learn by reading someone else's books, listening to other peoples words, following religious denominational doctrines. Some have no religious or educational scientific upbringing whatsoever to begin to formulate a theory. What many people fail to do is to realize that the very God they read about and learn about, in Sunday School, is the same God which gave them "free will", to seek the truth, in order to find it. Yet, they do not seek it for themselves. They seek a safe path; someone to give them safety by giving them something they can believe in and to adopt for themselves without really understanding what they believe in or why.
Before man, God was alone in HIS existence. When HE created angels and man, HIS communion with them began. Worship began, as GOD believed it should, since HE is the beginning and the end. God does have a persona. He is a most loving God. He is a most forgiving God. He is a most creative God. He is a jealous God. No other god should be worshipped before HIM. I can imagine the angels bended on knees and heads bowed in continuous song, praising God in the Highest. And then, there were the angels who defied that praise and chose to flock to the Earth to contaminate God's center sanctuary for HIS deepest love; mankind. I see the fallen angels coming to daughters of men and creating a hybrid race, (a non-religiously supported view), so they could perpetuate themselves; in order to dominate the Earth perhaps, or to continue their species. Perhaps the angels were simply created and not born. Just created like the first man and woman were created. Man and woman however, including the animals, were created with the ability to perpetuate their seed and have young.
After this hybrid race, which came to be known as the Nephilim, spread throughout the world, the Earth still quite young, repented God He ever made it. So much, he had to destroy it with water. Just like water gives life, it takes it away. This hybrid race was made from fallen angels and daughters of men. Angels possibly have an eternal state of existence or one more immortal than the mortality of mankind. Daughters of men, who could be impregnated or even violated, may have had their seed taken from them to propagate a new species. Whatever the Nephilim were, they were something feared by mankind. Or perhaps they were seen as gods or leaders. They may have possessed powers which were inherited by their angelic fathers. The angel, neither male or female, had to have some abilities, knowledge and skill in order to devise such a scheme to design a race all of their own.
When the Great Flood, (which Noah warned of in the book of Genesis), took all life, it also took the physical humanoid life from the Nephilim, as their bodies were drowned by water, but something of the Nephilim was left behind; as their disembodied spirits crept up from the waters and the mud, for somewhere to rest; but found none. This foul darkness was what the Nephilim inherited from their fallen angelic fathers; leaving them in their decrepit state. The monstrous and disembodied form, of the insides of the Nephilim, may have resembled darkness of black masses. There may have been momentary abilities for these dark spirits to appear in a corporeal cursed body. I have formed opinions that because there may be no way to rid of that dark energy, God created HELL for that purpose. HELL was never made for man. Some men, however, will die void of LIGHT or will carry demonic energy inside and their energy will only take them with other dark energies; therefore HELL. It will not be a place of escape, because, it was designed to destroy something made to last forever...angels.
I really have come to believe, if I look at all these things outside the religion I was taught, keeping extremist dogmatic denominational views behind, keeping my mind open about the possibilities of existence, then maybe I can truly discover other possibilities of what God is. Furthermore, the definition to angels and demons will fall in place. I'm almost as convinced that demonic entities are not religious. They do not care if you are atheist, Satanist, wiccan or Christian, Buddhist or nothing at all. They simply want to find a place they can rest. They seek the human body so that they may find their rest there and to gain control of the human soul. They are like scared animals when it comes to the mention of GOD or Christ; because that is the Creator. That is the designer of the Lake of Fire. It isn't vain repetition of religious rituals which frighten away demons from a person or the place they live. It is the threat of Light, the Holy Spirit, and God drowning them. They remember drowning. Their physical bodies were destroyed by water. But their eternal damnation will come when they are cast into Hell. And they are quite aware of their impending doom. Right now, they have dominion on the earth. Their story has not yet come to an end.
If there had never been a universe created, where angels and mankind existed, demons would have never become a problem. However, God being a just and fair God, gave them "free will". This is where the problem began. Those of his creation chose to turn on HIM; to sin, to create a horrendous hybrid race, only to come back to haunt planet earth today. And, they will continue to do so tomorrow. If we didn't only view God, angels and demons through the glasses of religion and would include a broader scope of analysis, including science and theory, we might have a clearer understanding and move on to the next level of paranormal science education beyond what we know of it today. ~~by Lana J.
